Program Management Office (PMO)

The management and sponsors of the Program Management Office (PMO) define the scope of the PMO. The PMO defined in this document refers to an organization that manages the delivery of projects defined by a Client Engagement Team (CET). It is these projects that need to be managed in a coordinated way, through a PMO process. However, project management is only one component within the PMO process because projects are managed in an environment that is broader than the projects themselves. Therefore, a PMO process should address multiple areas that each contributes to a coordinated and consolidated effort to achieve the client's goals.

The PMO Mission Statement The PMO will be the centralized operations unit for the all projects for a given client. The PMO will partner with the client and work together with one methodology and process. The PMO is accountable for:

• Project management,
• Communication,
• Risk management,
• Issue resolution,
• Contract administration,
• Client satisfaction.

The PMO should be evaluated on a regular basis. The PMO needs to be reviewed by the executive sponsors. A PMO Evaluation Meeting should occur on a quarterly basis, and should explore, but not be limited to, the following topics:
